SEATTLE, WA - Rainbow City Performing Arts (RCPA) is seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to fill the role of Managing Artistic Director (AD) for its non-profit organization that provides musical education and performance opportunities for LGBTQIA+ and allied individuals in the Seattle area.

The AD is responsible for overseeing the artistic direction and administrative management of RCPA's seven ensembles: Rainbow City Band, Rainbow City Orchestra, Purple Passion Swing Band, Reign City Riot, Rainbow City Marching Band, SpinOUT Color Guard, and Rainbow City Drumline. The AD also has additional responsibility for the growth of our development and revenue. The AD works closely with the Board of Directors, artistic staff, volunteers, and community partners to advance RCPA's mission of creating a safe and welcoming musical space for all.

The ideal candidate for this position has:

  • A passion for music and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • A master's degree or higher in music or a related field
  • At least one season helping to lead an LGBTQIA+ music ensemble
  • Experience with non-profit administration, fundraising, and marketing
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • A collaborative and creative approach to leadership and problem-solving

The AD position is a half-time, contract position. The compensation is $30,000 per year. The AD reports to the Board of Directors and supervises the artistic staff.
